PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES

Just as important as creating your designs is being able to present them. Maybe you have had some experience in school having to work out of your comfort zone and do a stand-alone presentation or work in a group with other students for a project, this class requires you to do tasks like these on a regular basis throughout the year. In order to sell your skills to others, you have to be a salesperson to promote who you are, what you do, and the value and skills you can bring to others. Below are some tutorials to help you through this process. Some of the key points to remember while watching this video are:

  1. Don't ramble on with your presentation - Be organized and prepared

  2. Good eye contact - don't stare at your notes or at the floor

  3.  Don't clutter up your notes - be concise and specific about what you want to say

  4. Don't have complicated, complex slides - make sure they are clear and to the point

  5. Don't fidget, play with your hair, or pace around the room - have a confident posture
